Having a garden in the backyard has its own beauty and uniqueness. And decorating that garden with outdoor lights is something like adding more grace to the place. Candle lamps and lanterns hanging in your yard or garden add a glow that will enhance the ambiance of your outdoor living space. Likewise, you can hang flower petal lamps all around in the garden.
Learning how to hang a flower petal lamp involves choosing the perfect location near an electrical plug and securely fastening the lamp to a ceiling hook. Moreover, you have to be handy with some of the items like hammer, stud finder, stepladder, pencil, drill, protective eye wear, metal hook with anchor, pliers, soft rag and chain.
Decide the place where you want to hang the lamp. However, it is advisable to choose a place that is already having an electrical outlet nearby.
Place the ladder firmly along wall. Now locate a wood support beam in the ceiling using stud finder. For added security, make use of a drywall anchor screw. Finding the exact location, now mark it with a pencil.

Lighting is the most important element of home decor and every room needs to be well lit. But many home owners tend to neglect certain areas when it comes to lighting and one of those areas is the kitchen. However, kitchen is an important area of any home and is used for many different activities now a days apart from just cooking food. So, it is very essential to light it well.
When it comes to kitchen lighting, the most common mistake is trying to light the entire room with one ceiling-mounted fixture. The result ends up being what is called a “glare bomb”, which visually overpowers everything in the space.
A single lighting fixture can never provide adequate lighting for a kitchen. There are basic four types of lighting which should be included in a kitchen to get the desired effect.
Task lighting is the first thing to consider when it comes to planning lighting for a kitchen. A kitchen is used for various activities like cooking, eating, cutting vegetable, reading recipes etc. So, to perform these tasks comfortably, it is important to place the task lights at the right place which is between the person’s head and the work surface.

Home lighting requires careful planning as it is responsible for the whole look and feel of an area apart from functional needs. There is a wide range of home lighting fixtures available now a days. Here we will be discussing about the most common portable fixtures used in homes- lamps and lamp shades.
Accent lamps can be used in bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, entrances and any spot that may need extra lighting. Because they are generally under 20 inches, they provide just the right amount of accent lighting.
Table lamps are one of the most versatile lighting fixtures. They can be used almost every where you wish to like, bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms etc. They are used for general illumination purpose.
Desk lamps are generally 12 to 20 inches high and are used to light a specific work area. Floor lamps, an excellent source of illumination, are especially useful in dark corners or areas where regular lighting may not reach. When table space is limited, wall lamps are a good alternative. Bedrooms are popular spots for these lamps.
