Do you desire a room filled with casual, but elegant accents? If this sounds like you, bring comfortable old world style to your home with Tuscan decor.
The Tuscan style represents the ease and grace of the Italian countryside sprinkled with European elegance. Think of warmed weathered walls and floors of beautiful stone or marble, romantic lighting, and furniture of rich wood. This is a style that welcomes you to come in, put your feet up, and relax for hours on end. Thanks to its aged beauty, this style is easy to replicate in any room.
Wall Paint: Tuscan wall colors are perfect if you have children and pets! Tuscan homes feature walls in warm tones of beige, brown, or yellow. Glass light shades are used in two ways: one is merely decorative, the other is a long term investment. It is not surprising to find glass lamp shades used as decoration because of their distinctive, noticeable quality. A turn-of-century bankers lamp shade is a good example. However, most people do not realize that glass lamp shades are also items of fine art which can be collected. When these shades are broken, the owner should do one of two things. He or she can commission a replica from a glass maker, or undergo the harder art of restoration.
Glass light shades which have no other ornamental bits and pieces such as mica chips, beads or metal frames can be replaced completely. It is not uncommon to find beaded lamp shades. The glass maker attempts to create a replica by a combination of glass blowing, shaping and mimicry. Of course the glass material should be identical or very close to the original. Finding a glassmaker should not be difficult, as many people continue to indulge in this ancient art. The replacement cost is a combination of the skill, complexity and materials required for the job.

If you are redecorating a bath or kitchen, Moroccan tiles may add just the touch you need to complete the look you want to accomplish. There are many different kinds and styles of the tiles and you should be able to find one that will give the room a great look.
You will need to decide the king of tile you want to use. Both glazed and unglazed tiles are called Moroccan, although most people think of the hand painted tiles when they use the term. Unglazed tiles are water absorbent, while glazed ones repel the water.
Unglazed tiles are available in many earth tones. The do absorb water and spills can cause them to be stained. Hand painted tiles are glazed and each one is a unique creation. The tiles are often used as accent pieces in other tile surfaces. They work well with a solid colored tile wall. Hand painted tiles are also available for borders of tile walls.
Since water does not remain on the surface, the unglazed tile is not as likely to become slick when wet. This can help to prevent slip and fall accidents. However, this can be a problem is you live in an area where winters become extremely cold, as freezing temperatures may cause the tile to crack or break.

Have you been thinking about changing the design of your home for something with a more Mediterranean feel? It is actually pretty simple to do. With some Mediterranean decor and Mediterranean furniture you can completely change both the look and feel of your home.
The style is referred to as Mediterranean because it comes from that used in the areas bordering the Mediterranean Sea. This includes areas such as Provence in France, Greece, Southern Spain, Tuscany, Italy, Turkey and Northern Africa. Any designs, colors or furniture that are typically used in homes in this area can be used to create this decor.
The homes in this region tend to be open with a great deal of light and air. This is the feeling you will want to evoke in your home. The colors you use should be the colors of the region as well. Just take a moment and imagine the region in question and you can visualize the possible color scheme.
When picking your colors, you can choose to use any that reflect the entire Mediterranean region. Or you may want to focus on those used in one area in particular. The entire region uses the blues that bring to mind the sea. In Greece, the homes are generally white washed and then accented with blues.

The connection between skin cancer and excessive exposure to sun is well established. The reduction of these risks during pool activities for these and other skin-related ailments is aided by proper preparation. Plan to install enough shading during the summertime to ensure that guests are shielded from strong solar UV rays. In this article we talk about three types of shades.
Likewise, exposure to cold can weaken one’s immune system or worsen an existing infection. The corresponding way to reduce such risks connected to pool activities is to do winter preparation. During the winter, the pool should be heated artificially for it to be usable. Pool shades come in roughly two types, whereas pool heaters come in roughly three.
Turning to heating systems, the most common type by far is the gas-fired type. In an age where environmental and ecological awareness is highly prized, the consumer can be assured the gas-fired type is the most efficient. Requiring little lead time, it can be turned on only when the pool needs to be used. However, gas-fired heaters are pricey and have a short life-span.
