The term chandelier came from the French word chandelle which means candle. Usually it has two or more arms which bear the lights. Chandeliers are often luxuriant with sets made from various crystals or selected glasses that creates elegancy in a room.
In the old times, candles and gas lamps are used to fashion houses and palaces. These are supported by a ring-like, cross wood or crown design. They had become a popular decorative feature and a symbol of luxury and high status.
It was during the 18th century wherein candles and gas lights are the only source of light for households. By 20th century, it was then replaced by electrical powered lightings. Since then, candles and gas have been used for aesthetic purposes. Instead of using it for illumination, it was furthered developed and had become a decorative focal point to enhance and accentuate a room.
With vast developments and advancements in technology and knowledge, chandeliers have evolved. Creative and new designs were made. These enormous lights transformed into a more complex and elaborate forms creating an extravagant and luxurious impression to its viewers. The classic beauty and timeless elegance and sophistication of these lights evolved a drama in prestigious places such as five star hotels, conference rooms, and high class restaurants.
